WBO Global Super Bantamweight Champion, Wasiru ‘GyataBi’ Mohammed, has been nominated in the “Man of The Year Sports” Category of the 5th annual Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Awards.
The 24-year-old will be up against some big names in sports for the honour, including current Black Stars Head Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor, Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew and Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey.

But the heavy-hitting boxer still has a shot looking at his achievements over the past year, claiming the vacant WBO Global title and defending it against Ghislain Vodounhessi, currently ranked no. 7 on the WBO Super Bantamweight Division and not forgetting in his 12 bouts so far, he has knocked out 11 opponents.
According to Technical Adviser to the management team of Wasiru Mohammed Yoofi Boham, Mohamed has the qualities to win a world title for Ghana, adding that he was patiently waiting for an opportunity to take a shot at the world title.
“The next boxing prospect that would hit the headlines in the world from Ghana would be the undefeated rising star, Mohamed,”…he added.
