Lampard’s position at Chelsea secure

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been told by Roman Abramovich, the owner of the club he will definitely still be in his job next season regardless of whether the club makes it into the Champions League.

According to reports, the news of Lampard staying as the team’s coach imminent after signing Timo Werner. Lampard was set to have plans of moving to London for either Liverpool and Manchester United.

However, Lampard seems to have stabilised the Blues with the eminent arrival of Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, a sign of good faith. Reports also indicate that the relationship between Lampard and director Marina Granovskaia is working well when it comes to transfers despite frustration in January.

Everyone associated with the club is looking forward to the future with great excitement as Chelsea could have one of the youngest and most exciting squads next season as they look to bridge the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Lampard will, however, be directed to wrapping up the current 2019/2020 Premier League season positively, with Champions League football still to fight for, when fixtures resume in a fortnight.

Chelsea currently sits fourth in the Premier League and will look to maintain that position when the Premier League restarts. The Blues will face Aston Villa on Sunday 21st June 2020 in their first match of return.
