The National Identification Authority (NIA) says they will issue 3,875,441 printed cards to Ghana Card applicants in 5,635 registration centres in all 16 regions of Ghana.
There was a halt in the issuance process because of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. The exercise will happen concurrently from Monday 8th June to Tuesday 16th June 2020.
The NIA says the nationwide card issuance process will enable 11,062,850 Ghanaians to posses Ghana Card for the purpose of vouching relatives in the upcoming registration that will commence from 18th June and end in September.

According to the NIA, the card can also be used as a legal identity document for voter registration exercise and vouching for others as Ghanaians. There was an assurance that they will provide Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for all NIA field officials to use during the exercise.

They also said they will deploy security personnel at each registration centre to ensure that control measures like physical distancing and appointment systems are strictly observed and all registration centres are going to be equipped with the requisite resources to make sure effective observance of all prescribed health and safety protocols listed.
Citizens can come for their cards following precautionary measures and wearing a nose mask.
