Faruouk Aliu Mahama, parliamentary candidate-elect on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and 2 other contenders for the Yendi Constituency in the Northern region of Ghana, have pledged to increase Nana Akufo-Addo’s vote margin in the constituency during the general elections in December. The parliamentary aspirant hinted that, this is as a token of appreciation for restoring peace in the area. This was revealed in an interview on an Accra based TV station CitiTV on the Point of View Show with Bernard Avle. Farouk disclosed that, the new era that is blowing over Yendi signifies that there is a new dimension of politics in Yendi and that, they are going to increase the vote of Nana Akufo-Addo by a bigger margin which is going to be made by the NPP leadership.
According to the MP elect, he has the assurance of his brother and sister who contested him that they are going to work together collectively in realizing this aspiration.
Meanwhile, the son of the former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana added that, his victory over his contenders was as a result of his development driven leadership exhibited towards alleviating poverty and plights levels of the constituents characterized by social intervention projects he undertook, that are currently contributing to the benefits of constituents regardless of their political affiliations.
He further hinted that, he has helped people in the constituency, got employment for the people, help farmers in the constituency, and all boil down to the fact that, if you work hard, you will be a successful candidate.
