EC is compiling a Voters Register not anti-Voltarians Register -Okudzeto Ablakwa

Member of Parliament for North Tong Constituency Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed dissatisfaction at the rate at which scores of violence has marred voter registration centres as well as disenfranchising certain ethnic group in some parts of the country in the course of the voter registration exercises most recent been the Banda incident which claimed one life tragically.

According to Ablakwa, what will it take for some folks to understand that the EC is compiling a Voters Register and not an anti-Voltarians Register?

To him, Ghanaians should strive to protect their nationhood and enviable national cohesion not driving a wedge between themselves.

The Member of Parliament noted that his constituents are exceedingly proud that, an important town such as Juapong, which is home to virtually every ethnic group in Ghana since the 1970s, largely because of the famous textiles factory continues to be a peaceful and tolerant haven where no one is prevented from registering or voting merely because they speak a different Ghanaian language other than the tongu language.

He asserted that Ghanaians are all one people with a common destiny.

In his concluding remarks admonished that, the enemy is poverty, unemployment, disease, superstition, corruption and lack of visionary leadership; not the guy from another ethnic group.
