I can win the world cup with Ghana-Mohammed Polo

Former Ghana and Accra Hearts of Oak legend,  Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, popularly known as Mohammed Polo has revealed, he is capable of winning the world cup with the Black Stars should the opportunity present itself to be the next coach of the four-time AFCON champions.

According to the “Dribbling Magician,” the Black Stars has what it takes to win the ultimate at the world stage. He explained that as a former player of the team, he has a 5-year developmental plan for the Stars when given the opportunity to manage the team.

“I have a 5-year development program to win the world cup with the Black Stars of Ghana when asked to coach the team”

He was speaking on Takoradi based Spice 91.9FM in the Western Region of Ghana monitored by Talksafrica.com.

Speaking on the technical director job, he indicated that, he is beyond that role but he is ever ready to give advice pertaining to the field. He stressed that he has not thought of applying for the Job.

“I’m above being an assistant coach, I won’t apply for any job, if anyone needs my services, they should contact me, am aiming higher but can’t go back to being an assistant coach anywhere”

He urged the Ghana Football Association to go for a local coach as the technical director. He noted that Ghanaian coaches are down to earth with respect to the role and knows the African terrain better than the foreign coaches.

“Every Ghanaian who applied for the GFA technical director role is capable of doing the job better than any expatriate”

The Ghana Football Association is bent on appointing a new technical director for the team.

Polo was the former Head Coach of Ghana Premier League club Accra Hearts of Oak.

He initially played his youth football with Auroras in Accra before joining the continental club masters. He was part of Ghana’s AFCON winning team of 1978.
