Russian Health Minister, Mikhail Murashko has announced a mass vaccination campaign against Coronavirus in October.
That will be Russia’s first potential vaccine that would be approved by regulators this month.
According to Murashko, the Gamaleya Institute, a research facility in Moscow had finished clinical trials of a vaccine adding that a paperwork was being prepared to register it.
He said that last month, Russian scientists are at early-stage trials of an adenovirus-based vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Institute, which is completed with a success.
“We plan wider vaccinations for October. Teachers and doctors would be first to receive it”, he added.
Meanwhile, US Infectious Disease Expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he hoped that Russia and China were testing the vaccine before administering them to anyone.
He noted that, the United States would have a safe and effective vaccine by the end of the year.
