The Deputy National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chief Biney has vehemently condemned recent military officers action of denying busloads of people in Banda in the Bono region from accessing registration centres for the ongoing compilation of a new voter registration exercise.
In a Facebook post sighted by talksafrica.com, He said, Ghanaians are one people seeking to fight poverty and other challenges confronting the nation, to that end, this is not the Ghana our forefathers fought for.
To the Deputy National Organizer, Ghana’s democracy is under serious attack and her enviable records in Africa and the world at large is being destroyed by people who think they are more citizens than others adding that, the president Nana Akufo-Addo must call his over empowered officers to order.
He asserted that, this is the first of it kind seeing armed security officers acting as conduit to prevent citizens from registering.
“The callous attitude of the very people entrusted with our state powers is disgraceful and condemnable” Biney fumed.
