The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has, met the first beneficiaries of the Accelerated Oil and Gas Capacity Building Programme at the flagstaff yesterday 6th August 2020.
The information was gathered by talksafrica.com on the President’s social media platform Facebook page to be precise. He said: the beneficiaries were trained in Advanced Welding, at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), Edmonton, Canada.
Adding that, They are now Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Certified Welding Instructors, and qualified to train other welders for CWB qualifications to that end They will be able to undertake welding jobs on any offshore oil platform.
The President asserted that, the initiative, launched on 7th November 2017, signifies Government’s commitment to ensuring that, Ghanaians and Ghanaian companies find themselves at the forefront of our oil and gas industry.
“Government is determined to expand opportunities in the industry, and to use it as a catalyst for the rapid transformation of our country” He emphasized.
