The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has, through the Education Ministry, donated a 33-seater Isuzu bus to the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Ministry of Education.
The bus is to help NUG in its operations.
The donation from MASLOC comes at the back of a request placed by the Union through the Ministry of Education.
At a brief ceremony to present the vehicle, Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh expressed his gratitude to MASLOC for responding to the call for assistance to NUGS.
On his part, President of the National Union of Ghana Students, Isaac Jay Hyde stated that the guidance of the Education Ministry and government has helped in maintaining unity in the ranks of the Union.
He also promised to use the bus for the purposes for which it was donated.
“We truly appreciate the guidance of His Excellency the President and the Honorable Minister’s guidance in ensuring that there is unity in the ranks of NUGS. They have been true fathers to us in all our deliberations and it has been a pleasure to work and interact with them,” he said
Personalities who were present at the ceremony included the Deputy Minister of Education (TVET), Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwaa, senior officials of both the Ministry and the GES and other executive members of NUGS.
