Labour analyst, Mr. Seth Abloso has called for a proper management of pension funds in the country.
According to Mr. Abloso, the government is expected to ensure that funds are prudently managed so that beneficiaries will have a better and guaranteed duration when they proceed on retirement.
He added that, it was unfair to these pensioners because they have worked hard and served the country only to hustle to receive their own monies they saved for a secured future.
“…Elsewhere, people look forward to going on pension with a lot of delight but in Ghana, you are going to jump into the poverty bracket and therefore, people will want to delay as much as possible when they go on pension.”
Mr. Abloso expressed his disappointment with the President over his silence with matters especially concerningpension funds during his state of the nation address.
“I expected more from the president than this, I expect the president to assure pensioners and workers going for pension that the government will ensure that their funds are prudently managed” he said.
