US-based Ghanaian middleweight Habib ‘Wild Hurricane’ Ahmed [27-1-1, 18 KOs] is set to return to the ring tomorrow 14th August 2020 as he faces American Alantez Fox [26-2-1, 12 KOs] in an 8 round middleweight contest.
The former super-middleweight made the decision to drop to the 160lbs division following his loss to Gilberto Ramirez [40-0, 26 KOs] with Ahmed’s trainer Herman Caicedo calling him a middleweight “You are not a Super Middleweight boxer because I know how super middleweight fighters looks like. Naturally, you are a middleweight”
The ‘Wild Hurricane’ was first supposed to face American Rob Brant [25-2, 17 KOs] for his first middleweight fight but Brant suffered a hand injury and the fight was called off, leading to the Ahmed v Fox fight.
“It’s been a while since I had a fight when my last fight got cancelled because of my opponent but we did not stop, we kept training immediately the lockdown was lifted” Ahmed expressed.
“I’m ready to get into the middleweight ranking and challenge any of the belts. The Fox fight will not be easy. I can’t wait to get busy” he added.
