The Flag bearer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his intentions of building a robust economy with social and economic infrastructure inclusive.
He said the John Mahama administration will see to Ghana having an economic management and developmental focus, adding that his government will build a robust, social and economical infrastructure.
Former President Mahama said this when he met with lecturers, stafff and students of the Ho Technical University as part of his tour to the Volta Region.
He also said that the 10-billion dollar infrastructure plan which is for a period of five years will help stimulate the economy by sourcing locally available materials and products for the execution of projects.
“We must build a robust, social, and economical infrastructure. The proposed 10-billion push initiative for development plan for a period of five years will create a platform for the transformation of our economy”, the Former President said.
He said that there has not been real efforts by the Akuffo-Addo administration to create an economy that generates prosperity for Ghanaians.
He said government has made clear little investment in production, innovation and creativity and “abandoning projects which are the main drivers of prosperity”.
He said he felt sad when he was informed that a laboratory he had commissioned in 2016 was abandoned.
“I feel sad to be told that laboratory has been abandoned and its not functional”, he said.
He assured lecturers and students that all laboratories in the university will activated and put to good use adding that he will ensure staffs are well trained in the US to efficiently and effectively impart knowledge and information to students.
