Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor has indicated that, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are not as formidable compared to some previous years.
The Porcupine Warriors have over the years struggled to win the Ghana Premier League title and also failed to achieve a feat in Africa inter-club competitions. The former president stressed that, the club is not what they use to know some years backs.
Ex-President Kufuor was of the great conviction that Dr. Kwame Kyei-led Board and the new appointed Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah will take the club to an extraordinary level in the game.
“We have gone past the nostalgic moments and Kotoko is not that Kotoko we used to know that is why Otumfuo Osei Tutu II through his unparalleled wisdom has selected people with prerequisite skills to revive the Club, and that will need unflinching support from the rank and file of the Club”
The former president urged the club supporters to be patient with the new structures put in place to bring the club back to its glory days
“The supporters of the Club should exercise patience with the Board of Directors to help them build a team that can compete well to the extent of achieving another Africa glory”He said
