News reaching Talksafrica.com indicate that a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate has died after writing four papers in the ongoing examination.
The candidate, Richard Mensah died at Apremdo in the Western Region of Ghana.
According to reports from Takoradi based radio station Connect FM, the teenager died on Wednesday, September 16 2020 after writing his papers.
The grandmother of the deceased said the 19 year old boy complained of a headache three days ago but managed to write four of his papers on Monday and Tuesday until the situation became severe.
She said he was rushed to the Jemima Hospital at Kwesimintsim on Wednesday but died when receiving treatment at the hospital.
Richard Mensah was a final year student of the Apowa Methodist Junior High School and was a candidate writing his exam at the St. Mary’s Senior High School Examination Center.
