Bus burnt,Drivers beaten as STC station in Ho attacked by alleged secessionist group

Some group of armed men are reported to have attacked the State Transport Corporation (STC) situated in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

The attack which was carried out by armed militants of the alleged separatist group which occurred at midnight on Monday, September 28, involved the members of the group firing gunshots before proceeding to beat up the drivers of the station.

According to report, the security guard of the station was held at gunpoint while they set one of the buses on fire and damaging another.

The incident has heightened the presence of security forces in the area.

This latest incident comes just days after some 31 suspects alleged to be secessionists were remanded by an Accra Circuit Court into BNI custody for two weeks.

The group earlier attacked some state institutions and police stations including mounting of roadblocks on Friday 25th September 2020

They are currently facing five provisional charges including conspiracy to attend a prohibited meeting, unlawful gathering and rioting.

They reportedly pleaded not guilty when they appeared before the Accra Circuit Court Two on Monday September 28 2020

It is currently not clear if the perpetrators are members of the Western Togoland Restoration Front.
