According to reports coming in, undefeated Ghanaian Bantamweight, Jesse Manyo Plange [20-0-1, 17 KOs], is itching to fight the winner of upcoming title bout between Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue [19-0, 16 KOs] and Australian Jason Moloney [21-1, 18 KOs].
Naoya is set to defend his unified World Boxing Association (WBA) Super World Bantamweight and International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Bantamweight titles against Moloney on 31st October 2020, and Manyo Plange is said to have expressed his interest in fighting the victor.
The fight would take place inside the bubble of the conference centre at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where all of Top Rank’s cards have been taking place since it began to put fights on again during the COVID-19 pandemic in June without spectators.
Naoya who signed with Top Rank last November was supposed to have his debut for the company (and his second fight in the United States) at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on April 25 in an ESPN main event. He was scheduled to face John Riel Casimero in a three-belt title unification fight. However, the card was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking about the bout Top Rank Chairman, Bob Arum, said: “The fight with Moloney I think is actually a better fight in the ring that it would have been with Casimero.”
Manyo Plange who is currently #5 on the WBA rankings has fought all his bouts in Ghana with his last fight coming back in January 2020 which saw him defeat Nigerian Sherif Kareem [9-2, 7 KOs] for the vacant West African Boxing Union (WABU) Super Flyweight title.
