The Bankroller and President of Division One club Berekum Arsenal FC Alhaji Yakubu Moro has passed away in Accra.
Alhaji Moro died at the Ridge Regional Hospital in Accra on Thursday night after a short illness.
The famous and opinionated football administrator had been receiving treatment in Berekum for some time.
His ailment got worse and he was taken to Accra for further treatment but could not survive.
Under Alhaji Moro, Berekum Arsenal earned promotion to the Ghana Premier League in 2000 and stayed on until 2013 where they got relegated.
In 2006, the Berekum based club qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup but were eliminated in the second round by Angolan giants Petro Atletico.
They had eliminated Congolese side Diables Noirs in the first round of the competition.
Alhaji Moro will be buried on Friday as per Islamic practice
