Government is committed to harness benefits of AfCFTA – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has said that, his government is committed to making the most of the AfCFTA and to the benefit of the private sector to boost Ghana’s trade with other African countries.

According to him, government is ready to assist Ghanaian business to develop and make Ghana a manufacturing hub.

“In Ghana, we’ve already used building blocks for our private sector to harness the benefits of the AfCFTA. Additionally, the National Export Development Strategy serves as an appropriate policy framework for coordinate in consolidating public sector support from the development export”

“Let me re-affirm the government’s determination to assist Ghanaian businesses to take formality of the AfCFTA and to ensure that the required financial and human are mobilized to develop to make Ghana new manufacturing and financial service center for the African continent”, he said.

He made these assertion when speaking at a 2 day- conference on the implementation of the AfCFTA agreement, under the theme, “Empowering Ghanaian businesses to harness the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement under the framework of the National Export Development Strategy (NEDS)”,

The President explained that the agreement would promote Ghana’s trade with African countries.
