National Communication Officer of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi has declared that, H.E President Nana Akufo-Addo is a family builder as John Mahama is a Nation builder
On a Facebook post sighted by Talks Africa Media, the National Communication Officer has accused the daughters of President Akufo-Addo of using their foundation, incorporated just 6 months after their father became President, to collect monies from several Public Institutions.
He claimed that, the Public institutions in contention are unable to say no to the daughters requests for funds because of who their father is.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the fact that, their father is President, puts them in a position to extort monies from public institutions.
“We have no means of knowing how much they have collected from Public Institutions since their incorporation in June 2017.”
Adding that, they have no means to ascertain wether those taxpayers monies have actually gone into what they were meant for.
Sammy Gyamfi posed a question to those defending the act that, if Lordina Mahama or the Sons of John Mahama had engaged in this act between 2013-2016, what would they have said?
“Even when the Lordina foundation was doing charity works with privately-sourced resources, what did they say about her?” He further questioned.
“If they have a passion for charity and know how to raise funds for same, why didn’t they incorporate this foundation when their father was not President?” He lamented.
“Do you know how many foundations have been struggling for financial sponsorship from Public Institutions in this country but to no avail?”
In his conclusion remarks he said “We now know that President Akufo Addo is a FAMILY BUILDER and John Mahama, a NATION BUILDER. Ghana needs THE NATION BUILDER.”
