Public Relations Officer of Berekum Chelsea, Isaac Amponsah, says that the club is keen on finishing among the top four teams in the forthcoming 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
The club was 2nd on the standings of the Ghana Premier League last season before it was canceled because of the outbreak of the coronavirus disease.
Speaking to UniversSports on the Sport Express show monitored by Talksafrica.com, he said that they do not expect to fall below their expectation.
“We want to find ourselves in the top four. I don’t think Berekum Chelsea as a club, we can set a target below the top four,” he said.
Although he admits that their opening game, which is against Accra-based Legon Cities FC, will be difficult, he insists that his side will snatch the maximum points on opening day.
“Last season we played Accra based side Hearts of Oak in our first game, this season we will face another Accra based side specifically Legon Cities. Last season they were going through challenges because the team went through a transformation in ownership and other things. But this time, I expect a lot from Legon Cities this season. It is not going to be an easy game but we are hoping that we amass victory.
Berekum Chelsea will be led by Michael Hesse Odamten as their new head coach ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 football season starting in November.
