The Carbayones started brightly going ahead in the 5th minute thanks to a Pablo Bobadilla Saenz own goal but an early red card to Oviedo’s Swiss defender Simone Grippo in the 8th-minute swang momentum to the Logroño-based side.

Logroñés would, however, wait till the 48th minute to score the equaliser which was put away by Colombian forward Leonardo Acevedo, the club would then take the lead four minutes later following a Christian Fernández Salas own goal. Obeng would then bring the score to 2-2 with a 56th-minute strike but it would be for nought as Logroñés’ Spanish forward David González would secure the 3 points for the away side in the 71st minute.

The defeat sees Real Oviedo placed 20th in Segunda División with the club already looking like relegation candidates after nine matches played in the ongoing campaign.
