Elmina Sharks sign Daniel Nii Adjei

Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Elmina Sharks have completed the signing of former TP Mazembe midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei after successful talks with both sides.

Sharks announced the signing on their official Twitter handle welcoming the experienced midfielder to their fold

“We welcome Daniel Nii Adjei to the Fearsome Elmina Sharks family. The former Asante Kotoko SC and King Faisal FC midfielder joins to augment the squad with his experience.”

The 32-year-old joins the Elimina-based side on a 1-year deal after his contract with fellow GPL side, King Faisal, was terminated.

Elmina Sharks Head Coach, Yaw Acheampong is anticipating a tough competition in the upcoming 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season but the Ghanaian tactician is aiming at improving on last season’s 4th position in the upcoming season.

“The league will be tough this time around because when you speak with King Faisal FC you will know that they have learned their lessons,” he told Max FM

“My target is to go far in this year’s league, I will take it to match after match. I believe that the more we pick points the closer we become to the promised land.” He further stated

Nii Adjei is expected to bring his experience playing with clubs like Congolese giants Tout Puissant (TP) Mazembe(where he won a 2014/2015 CAF Champions League), Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club (winning the 2017/2018 CAF Super Cup) and Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko (claiming the 2012/2013 GPL title) to the Sharks set-up.

During the cancelled 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, Nii Adjei made 7 appearances for King Faisal playing 412 minutes for the club. The combative midfielder is also a full Ghana international appearing once for the senior national football team, the Black Stars.
