A survey conducted by the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) has revealed that at least 51% of Ghanaians will vote based on infrastructure and roads in the upcoming 2020 December Elections.
Director of Research at CDD-Ghana, Dr. Edem Selorm, indicated that this is the first time in the history of their survey that Ghanaians are more concerned about infrastructure than employment.
“We have the same findings when we conducted the afrobarometer survey this year and this is the first time in the history of our survey that roads and infrastructure overtook employment. In 2016, the priority of Ghanaians was unemployment, electricity, and management of the economy followed by roads and infrastructure,” she revealed.
The survey also indicated that 85% of Ghanaians were confident in the security agencies to ensure a peaceful election.
“Even though when you asked Ghanaians they will say the police are corrupt, it may seem as a contradiction. In respect of what they want from the police, they are trusting that the institution will protect us” he noted.
