Farmers Day not a Public Holiday-Interior Minister Clarifies

Interior Minister Ambrose Dery has announced that Friday, 6th November, 2020 is not a Public Holiday even though the National Farmers’ Day will be observed on that day.

A statement signed by the Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery indicated that December 4, 2020, the original date for observing Famers’ Day “Remains a Statutory Public Holiday and would be observed as such throughout the country.”

In an election year, the Farmer’s Day celebration is held on the first Friday of November.

This year’s celebration will take place in Techiman in the Bono East region.

The theme for the celebration is ‘Agribusiness Development under COVID-19 – Opportunity and Challenges.”

National Farmer’s Day is a statutory public holiday in Ghana observed on the first Friday of December.
