Two female hawkers were crush to death by a truck around Lotto, inbound Lagos, on the Lagos-Ibadan freeway on Friday.

The Spokesman, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, affirmed the episode to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Akinbiyi revealed that the occurrence happened around 3:30 pm, adding that the driver of the truck, checked SMK 82 XY, let completely go, slipped off the street and smashed into the side of the road peddlers, murdering them on the spot.

He expressed that three others were harmed in the mishap.

“The truck has been taken to Mowe Divisional Police Station, with the driver in their care,” Akinbiyi said.

Akinbiyi said that the perished were kept at the Idera mortuary in Sagamu, while the harmed were taken to Famobis Hospital, Mowe.
