Just In: ISWAP Fighters Set Military Base Ablaze In Borno

Insurgents suspected to be members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) overran a tactical development in the southern piece of Borno State on Tuesday and truck away weapons after a savage firearm fight with the soldiers.

It was discovered that the contenders rode on around 10 utility vehicles to storm the tactical arrangement at Kwamdi town, Damboa neighborhood government region, on Tuesday evening.

They were said to have torched one Ammour Personal Carrier(APC) and a weapon truck.

As indicated by an individual from the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), Hamidu Abu, the destructive gathering designated officers camp yet not inhabitants.

He further revealed that the base was bulldozed down as arms and ammo were taken by the intruders.

“They came at around 4 p.m. furthermore, because of the dust storms it was hard for fighters to repulse them. They torched the base including APC and four different vehicles.

“I can’t discover if there was any causality figure,” Abu said.

A security source affirmed that the base went under assault from shooters accepted to be ISWAP contenders at around 4 pm and it went on for about an hour and 30 minutes.

The source added that contenders took advantage of the lucky break of the dust storm to infiltrate the base.

“Our base at Kwamdi went under assault yet we didn’t lose any of our faculty to the aggressors, sadly the base endured a few harms,” the security source disclosed to Daily Trust.

There has not been any authority response from the Nigerian military.
