The Accra Girls Senior High School has recorded six positive Coronavirus cases as of Monday, June 29, 2020.
Six students of the school tested positive for the virus, though they showed no symptoms of the novel virus, they were in isolation at the school’s sickbay.
According to news gathered by Talksafrica.com, on Saturday, July 4, tests were run by the Ga East Municipal Hospital on about eleven students on campus.
But unfortunately, six out of the 11 students tested positive, and have therefore been sent to the same hospital for treatment.
The situation was uncomfortable for the people in the school, however, officials from the Ayawaso Health Directorate had to take care of the situation to minimize the spread.
Ghana’s President, Akuffo Addo on March 15, 2020, directed the closure of all schools including tertiary to help curb the spread of the novel virus.
He asked that schools reopen starting from Monday, June 22, 2020, for final year students in Junior High, Senior High, and Gold Track students as well as tertiary institutions, also to resume on June 15, 2020, for their examinations.
These were some of the measures taken by Akuffo Addo to ease restrictions.
