34-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Anthony Annan has scored his first goal for Finnish Premier League side FC Inter Turku on Monday 28th September 2020.
The veteran midfielder opened the scoring in the 29th minute of his side’s 3-0 victory over FC Lahti at the Veritas Stadion. Timo Furuholm and Benjamin Kallman netted the other two goals to ensure the emphatic victory.
The victory moves Inter Turku into 3rd place of the Finnish Premier League 7 points behind leaders HJK Helsinki.
Annan has made 27 appearances for the Sinimustat since signing for the club on a free back in August 2019 after being let go by Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem.
“FC Inter has entered into two-player contracts for the rest of the season. On the left, 25-year-old British player Connor Ruane and midfielder 33-year-old Ghanaian Anthony Annan bring in the confirmation,” Inter Turku posted on their website fcinter.fi.
Inter Turku will be the second Finnish Club Annan will be joining having had a stint with HJK Helsinki where he made 111 appearances scoring 3 goals and laying off 9 assists. He also won 3 Finnish Premier League titles and 2 Finnish Cups with the Klubi.
The defensive midfielder also has 64 caps for the Ghana senior national football team, the Black Stars scoring 2 goals.
