Reports coming in reveal that Arsenal are putting the finishing touches to a new contract for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which is expected to be presented to the striker in the coming days.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is desperate for the Aubameyang situation to be resolved as quickly as possible and has made it clear that he wants the 31-year-old to stay but the club must convince the pacy forward that they are ready to back Arteta and give the head coach a real chance to turn the club back into top-four contenders.
The pair have forged a close working relationship and Aubameyang has indicated that he enjoys playing for Arteta and would consider re-signing under him.
Acting on Arteta’s advice, Arsenal are now finalising their first official contract offer to Aubameyang which is likely to be worth around £250,000-a-week, plus bonuses.
