Communications Director of Ashanti Gold (AshGold) SC, Eric Karikari, has revealed in an interview with OtecFM that the mass player exodus is not a part of the club’s management plans.
“AshGold is building a long term project in which those players leaving are not part of the plan. Management took the decision of releasing those players following the advice from the technical team and approved by our board.”
“Those players are very good and have helped the club but they can’t fit into our long term project.” He concluded
The Miners seems to have become a selling club in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) with the likes of Latif Anabila, Shafiu Mumuni, Jerry Akaminko, Eric Donko and other top players all leaving the club. Leaving many fans of the club worried about their decisions.
However, Karikari has asked fans to exercise patience as the management of AshGold would not make a wrong decision “The supporters should exercise patience because the management will never take a wrong decision for the club.”
