BAG to resume activities 6th June

President of the Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), Evans Yeboah, has revealed that his association is set to resume training on Saturday 6th June 2020.

This comes following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s directive for non-contact sports to resume their respective training session, a decision Mr. Yeboah was in support of.

“We have been having a lot of engagement with the Ministry [of Sports] for the last 11 weeks, and we have been able to share our thoughts and we believe that that is what informed the decision to be able to ease restrictions for individual sports which badminton is part.”…he said

Mr. Yeboah also revealed that the association have released guidelines for their members to follow during these training sessions to keep them safe.

“As the national governing body [of badminton] we have put together a guideline for our members so that able to adhere to the necessary protocols that we need to follow. Key among them is that hopefully from June 6, that is this Saturday we are returning to normal.”

The National Sports Authority (NSA) yesterday released a list of 14 disciplines of which badminton is included that can resume their respective training sessions following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s directives issued on 31st May 2020. However, competitive sporting events and games still remain suspended until further notice.
