Meet ‘Street Lord’ the exceptional Dancer from the Noyam Dance Institute.


Benjamin Mawuko Korsorku is a dancer, choreographer, poet and storyteller. The 24 years old dancer is known by his peers as ‘Street Lord’. A nickname that was coined after his experience on the streets as a boy. Many refer to him as the street King. He is currently a dancer at Noyam Dance Institute where he began his dance journey.

Street Lord began his dance and poetry journey when he was a boy. Being a lover of nature, he is drawn to things that are African based. Some people know him as a Pan-African Activist in the dance world. Supporting African dance has been one of his goals in life. Mr Korsorku as some of his colleagues calls him doesn’t mind dancing the whole night. Only if it’s an African dance which walks with drums.

Though he is equally good at contemporary dance, his favourite is favourites local dance Creating new dance moves have been part of his career as a Noyam dancer. He has much exposure in his field. Street Lord has performed at many events and stages including the National Theatre and Conference Centre.  He also had the chance to perform in the United Kingdom a few years ago.

Currently, he is working on bringing up new dance moves. Also, he is writing down some lovely poems which are African based. His love for African culture is great. Aside from dance, he is an enthusiast of tourism. His personality has made him one of Ghana’s favourite dance world. Street Lord is also a music lover. His genre of music is rap.
