CAF postpone 2021 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have postponed the 2021 Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to be held in Cameroon from 9th January – 6th February to January 2022.

The decision was revealed following an Executive Committee held earlier today 30th June 2020, via video-conference to discuss the future of competitions and other related issues following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 Total African Nations Championships (CHAN) also to be held in Cameroon has also been postponed to January 2021 while the 2020 Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has also been cancelled due to the current pandemic.

Some good news however is the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League is set to be launched in 2021. The format and other details will be communicated later.
