Carlos Ahenkorah confirms being COVID-19 positive but denies been admitted at ICU

Incumbent MP for Tema West Constituency and Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah has clarified media reports going viral that he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after contracting COVID-19 virus.

In an interview with Citi Newsroom’s Umaru Sanda Amadu monitored by’s political desk, Carlos Ahenkorah has stated that, although he had tested positive for Coronavirus, he was rather at the Hospital’s isolation center receiving treatment.

Earlier reports suggest that the governing New Patriotic Party’s Campaign Manager for the 2020 general elections, Mr. Peter Mac Manu and the Tema West MP were tested positive for COVID-19 were admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching.
