Check out the three women in the race to the Jubilee House

Politics in Ghana for sometime now has been a dominant game for men with little or no participation of women.

The table is now turning as some women are gradually warming themselves up into the game as we prepare for the December 2020 elections.

Six women are vying for various positions in the presidential race.

Split equally, 3 are going for the higher gamble which is the flagbearer of a respective party and 3 are backing as running mates.

Flagged by 30 men, these women have decided against all odds, to put their best foot forward in the race to the Jubilee House.

Akua Donkor

Madam Akua Donkor was born in 1952.She is a Ghanaian  politician, founder and leader of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).

Akua Donkor was born on February 1952, and hails from Afigya Kwabre District in the Ashanti Region  of Ghana. She is a cocoa farmer by profession. She is not known to have had any formal education

She was elected assembly woman for Herman, a step towards achieving her ambition of being the president of Ghana. Her ambition to be president was evident in the 2012 polls where she applied to contest as an independent candidate.

Madam Donkor is appealing to Ghanaians to elect a woman as president which she believes a woman has the capacity to transform the developmental process of this country.

Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was born  on  November 17 1948.She was the First Lady of Ghana from 4th June 1979 to 24th September 1979 and 31st December 1981 to 7th January 2001, both times under President Rawlings.

In 2016 she became the first woman to run for President of Ghana. She was billed as “The Hillary Clinton” of Africa. She had 0.16% of the votes cast.She has also filed her nominations this year to contest in the presidential elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Party

 Brigitte Dzogbenuku

Brigitte Dzogbenuku is a former Miss Ghana and a female politician. She is currently the Presidential candidate for the Progressive People’s Party.She attended Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast before proceeding to the University of Ghana to study Modern Languages.
