Documentary: Volta Region has High Agriculture and Tourist potentials

The Volta Region is known for its high Agricultural and tourist potentials which generate revenue for the country. It has the potentials for seafood such as oysters, shrimp and fisheries, and development of aquaculture.

Everything can be grown in the region since agriculture is the mainstream of Ghana’s economy; thus, investment into the tourism sector would promote the physical markets as well as offer jobs for the youth.

This is because, the tourism sector has very great potential, thus, we must invest in agriculture and in the tourism sector so as to boost growth and increase revenue for the country.

A town like Keta is known for its salt mining and production. It is the larger producer of local salt and has helped reduce unemployment in the area.

The government must promote and spice up market potentials in the Region to improve it’s physical resource mobilization. It behooves us to make sure that we recognize these tourist facilities available in our own country because the Volta region is very much endowed in such tourist attraction sites.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been assessing the Keta Basin of the Petrol and Chemical Industry, and so, we hope that oil exploration would begin earnestly to bring major investments to the region.

On the Tourist potentials of the region, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, however, asked investors and foreigners to turn to the region to invest in it’s high agricultural and tourist potentials.

He appealed to Ghanaians both in the country and in the diaspora, and foreigners to come to the Volta region, to run investments for job creation.
