Ghana Premier League (GPL) outfit, Dreams FC, have officially unveiled the signing of former Hearts of Oak forward Joseph Esso.
The Accra-based side revealed the signing on their official twitter handle saying “Don’t blink, you might miss him introducing…Joseph Esso.”
Esso signed for Dreams on a free after the Rainbow club decided against renewing his contract after it expired.
Hearts of Oak earlier this month revealed in a Facebook post that they had decided not to extend the contracts of Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Aboubacar Traoré, Bernard Arthur and most notably Joseph Esso which sparked anger in some supporters of the club as they blamed the club’s management for his exit.
The 23-year-old bid farewell to his former club in an emotional message saying “It’s been a wonderful journey down the rainbow lane, full of colours and amazing victories. At this point, it is no secret that my chapter at the great club has come to an end and my next destination has been topical, a fact that has proven the bond I shared with players, management and most importantly the fans.”
“The love and support over the years was phenomenal and I am really grateful. For each cheer, from the stands, the touchline and from your digital distance, I appreciate you all.”
“To everyone who has supported me, know that the mission is not over and I will soar as the almighty guides and leads my journey.” He concluded
Esso played 14 games scoring 3 goals for the Phobia in the cancelled 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season. He was also a key member of the Ghana team that finished as runner ups at the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal.
