At about 22.00 GMT, some residents in some parts of Ghana experienced an earth tremor causing fear among the general public.
Some social media users took to their walls how shocked they were and shared their experiences. According to some people, they thought it was the end of the world and it was time for the rapture.
The tremor occurred three times but most people felt it during the second and third times.
It was mostly felt in the capital city of Ghana, Accra, and some other parts like Cape Coast and its enclaves.
An earth tremor is however a relatively small or short-lived movement of the earth’s surface caused by the same forces that produce earthquakes.
An official statement is yet to be released by authorities on what precautionary measures would be taken ahead of future occurrences.
