Electoral Commission of Ghana has hinted that the Voter Registration exercise is expected to start by the End of June.
Speaking on an Accra based Television station JoyNews, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe said the commission is adequately prepared to start the exercise at the end of June.
“We are very ready to start the exercise at the end of this month because we have made the necessary arrangement and provision to make the exercise smooth”….said.
Dr. Quaicoe also noted that all safety measures will be taken seriously and will ensure that the exercise will not become the hoodwink for the virus to spread.
The Electoral Commission was set to conduct the New Voter Registration exercise in April but had to postpone it due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the Country.
The Commission has been faced with a lot of petitions and lawsuit to kick against their decision to hold the voter registration in the last few months but has succeeded in winning the case.
However, there are some issues still not cleared up in court, which it is expected that the court will rule in their favour.
