Energy Minister, Peter Amewu has condemned acts of political violence in the Hohoe Constituency.

The Minister, who is also a Parliamentary Candidate for the Hohoe constituency, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who went through the voter registration exercise with his wife admonished the youth to condone such acts of political violence.

He said “I am not here to attribute faults but just to ask the youth to exercise a bit of restraint on both sides so that we can go through the registration process smoothly”.

Peter Amewu noted that if the youth persists in engaging in violent activities, it could destabilize the peace of the area and country as a whole.

The Hohoe Parliamentary candidate however has refuted claims of he busing people who do not hail from the constituency to register for their Identification cards.

He explained that some indegens appealed to him to facilitate their transportation back home in order to get registered.

The Energy Minister noted that the voter registration exercise was satisfactory adding that the turnout reflected the willingness of the people to register.
