First Female Tanzania Sworn In As The President

The first female Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan was sworn in on Friday as the Female President of Tanzania after John Magufuli died from a heart attack.

The 61 years old, wore a black suit and red headscarf and took the oath of office in Dar es Salaam before accompanied by troops at the military parade and receiving a salute.

First Female Tanzania President expressed her gratitude after her swearing an oath and promised to do all the best she can to make Tanzania revive again.

The coronation was witnessed by members of the cabinet of Tanzania and former Tanzania’s Presidents Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Jakaya Kikwete, and Abeid Karume. The former heads of state were the only ones in the room and abiding by the COVD 19.

Hassan went outside to inspect a military guard of honor and address them.

She said “I Samia Suluhu Hassan, promise to be honest and obey and protect the constitution of Tanzania,” she swore in with the presence of the dignitaries, who applauded when the brief ceremony was complete.

Under the Tanzania constitution, Hassan will serve the remainder of Magufuli’s second five-year term, which does not expire until 2025.

Hassan’s coronations comes two days after the announcement of the death of President John Magufuli by her, who had not been seen in public for more than two weeks. In Suhulu first  public address, she announced 21 days of mourning for Magufuli and public holidays on March 22 and on his burial day which will be on March 25.

Next time it should be directly through a vote. Am happy to be part of a generation that sees this new change the Female president expressed her gratitude.
