Former Kotoko coach Jabir cautions GFA over resuming football

Former Asante Kotoko Coach Malik Jabir has added his voice to the ongoing discourse about whether to resume the 2019/2020 Ghana football season cautioning the Ghana Football Association (GFA) against its resumption following the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

Malik revealed this to Kumasi-based OtecFM saying “Let’s be objective, only those who don’t fear the virus will call for the resumption of the league. The Europeans are organized and will not lose anything because they have sponsors who will support them till the end of this season which we don’t have”

“I prefer we wait till December, we would have to know what to do by then if things remain the same. I’m still in quarantine because I don’t want to risk [my life] so why should I advise some people to meet in the stadium, which comes with a lot of danger,” he added.

The 2019/2020 Ghana football season has been suspended since mid-March due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic and the GFA have revealed that association will decide as to whether to resume or cancel the 2019/2020 season on 30th June 2020, after considering all factors on the subject matter.
