Former Porcupine Warrior reveals club signed him for ₵6000

In an interview with StarrFM former Kumasi Asante Kotoko star Michael Osei revealed that the club paid ₵6000 to secure him from Okwahu United back in the 1980s.
“Asante Kotoko paid six thousand equivalent to sixty thousand cedis currently to get my services from Okwahu. I only played for two years with them before leaving the shores of Ghana” he said
The current Head Coach of Star Madrid joined the Porcupines from Okwahu United after his impressive display for the Eastern Region based club. He would then spend 2 seasons with the Ghana Premier League giants before leaving the shores of the country to play for SK Vorwärts Steyr in Austria.
After his playing career, Osei would enter into coaching spending 4 years at German side FSV Frankfurt II as the assistant coach to managers Ramon Berndroth, Nicolas Michaty and Bernhard Trares from 2008 to 2011. He would then leave becoming caretaker and assistant manager for the Porcupine Warriors between 2015 to 2017 before landing his current position at Star Madrid.
