Around 30,000 people have died of Coronavirus disease in France after it recorded close to 200,000 confirmed cases, According to Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 dashboard.
After a two-month lockdown, France began easing restrictions in May and reopened bars and restaurants in June.
France’s virus reproduction has shot up tp a point where almost one person who contrcats COVID-19 infects others with the virus.
For that reason, French President, Emmanuel Macron said it will make wearing of masks compulsory in Enclosed public spaces.
He said that France will require people people to wear masks to prevent a rebound in COVID-19 cases.
“We have some sign that it is coming back a bit, faced with that, we must anticipate and prepare”, he said.
President Macron emphasized on the need for the people to wear the mask, though people were recommended to wear them.
“I want us in the next few weeks to make maks compulsory in enclosed public spaces. I ask fellow citizens to wear maks as much as possible when they are outside, and especially when they are in an enclosed space”, he advised.
A fire fighter was seen wearing a face mask with colours or the French flag, prior to the Bastille Day parade, on the Champs Elysees avenue in Paris.
