Genk part ways with Nana Akwasi Asare


Belgian giants K.R.C. Genk have mutually terminated the contract of 34-year-old Ghanaian defender Nana Akwasi Asare after being deemed surplus to requirement.

The defender spent 7 long successful years at the Cristal Arena winning the Belgian First Division A title with De Smurfen (The Smurfs) during the 2014/2015 season and the claiming the 2016 Belgian Super Cup.


Nana Akwasi Asare who joined Genk from Dutch outfit FC Utrecht back in 2013 made 272 appearances for the Belgian giants scoring four goals and providing 16 assists. The 34-year-old also has a single Black Stars cap to his name.
