German dream for Patrick Twumasi


2. Bundesliga side Hannover 96 have announced the signing of Ghanaian winger Patrick Twumasi from La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés.

The German side revealed the signing on their official twitter handle saying The ink is dry: Patrick #Twumasi changes from @Alaves to #H96 . The 26-year-old offensive player has signed a contract until 2023. Welcome to #Hannover”


The 26-year-old who has signed a 3-year deal with Die Roten said in an interview with the club’s official website that it is a dream to play in Germany “I’m really happy to be here. I have always dreamed of playing in Germany and am happy to be a part of Hannover 96 now.”

Hannover 96 Sports Director, Gerhard Zuber has praised the Ghanaian and believes he will make an impact at the club “With Patrick Twumasi we get a very variable offensive player. He can play on both wing positions, but also as a central striker. Patrick is fast, tech-savvy and has always had excellent scorer ratings on his previous stations.”

Twumasi was on-loan at Süper Lig side Gaziantep FK during the 2019/2020 season scoring 6 and laying off 5 assists in 27 appearances for the Turkish side. He is also a full Ghanaian international appearing 3 times for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
