Ghana High Commission to India announces possible evacuation for stranded Ghanaian residents


The Ghana High Commission to India has announced a possible evacuation for stranded Ghanaian residents in India and Indians with the Ghanaian passport.
In a statement issued by the Ghana High Commission in New Delhi, the tentative date for evacuation exercise is on August 22, 2020.
According to the Commission, the evacuation is subject to receipt of approval of Authorities of India and Ghana adding that, it is subject of getting sufficient number of passengers for the proposed flight for a minimum of one hundred and sixteen (116) persons.
The statement therefore entreats all Ghanaian Nationals and Ghana resident permit holders desirous of taking the flight to register with the High Commission with their name, passport number, contact details and current location.
The High Commission noted that the cost of flight tickets will be based on the number of persons who register with the Commission.
The statement concluded that passengers are to note that in addition to the flight tickets, “they will cover the cost of 14 days mandatory quarantine in Accra”.
