Rock climbing is one of the toughest sports in the world. In this sports, partakers climb up, down or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls.
The main goal of climbers is to reach the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a usually pre-defined route without falling.
Research shows that rock climbing can burn anywhere from 500 to 900 calories per hour. This usually depends on the mode of climbing. Provided climbers keep rest to a minimum between routes.
Due to the nature of these sports, only a few people do them. It has come to the realization that some Ghanaian youths have found interest in it. Many of these new climbers practice on the Akuapem Togo-Range. It looks scary when watching but it’s a happy moment when they achieve their target.
Amid the coronavirus, these climbers are seen in a group of four or five. In such groups, only one or two do the climbing. The other team members serve as a crew. Climbing on the mountain usually occurs in the morning or at dusk.
