Ghana’s First Lady Donates Medical Equipment to Tema General Hospital


First Lady of the Republic of Ghana Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo has yesterday September 7, 2020 donated medical logistics to the Tema General Hospital at Tema.

The gesture according to Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo is part of her foundation’s ongoing medical outreach to the Tema vicinity.

Rebecca Akufo-Addo was joined by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central Yves Nii Noi Hanson and for Tema East, Hon. Titus Glover.

This donation, according the First Lady is the largest public health facility in Tema and was made possible through the generosity of Partners of The Rebecca Foundation which adds to the several interventions by government to help the hospital through the COVID-19 National Trust Fund.

She further explained that, already, the hospital has seen the construction of a new and modern antenatal ward and provision of a high-end blood analyser under this NPP administration.

Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that, It is her prayer that the imminent upgrade of the hospital from a General to a Regional Hospital, occasioned by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government will come to fruition as he is given 4 More Years to Do More.

At the breast cancer screening exercise, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo commended the participants for taking the step to undergo screening. It is important for the disease to be detected early as early detection helps in better treatment outcomes.
